The team

Meet the pack

No paid staff and no office — ROAR is run by riders who give up their own weekends so everyone else's ride is safe, organised and good for nature. It is a structure, not one person with a WhatsApp group.

Under construction. Rider names, photos and short stories are still being put together. Each card below is where a real headshot and profile will go. Until then, meet the team in person on a ride.

How it started

One idea, from ride one

Roar Riders began with a couple of riders who kept having the same conversation at every fuel stop. The roads were as good as ever. The places at the end of them were not — streams full of plastic, viewpoints turned into bins, animals dead on stretches that used to be safe crossings. And it was riders, more than anyone, watching it happen up close.

The obvious response was to stop complaining about it and do something on the way past. So the rule was set on ride one and it has not changed since: we ride together, and we give back together. Everything else about ROAR — the briefings, the roles, the certificate, this website — is built on top of that one line.

Want to help run it?

Several roles above are open. If you are organised, calm on the road and want to put real time in — as a marshal, a route recce rider, a first-aider or on partnerships — we would like to hear from you.
