Delhi to Neemrana & Tijara Fort
Neemrana Fort-Palace is a fifteenth-century hill fort on a spur above the highway, restored as a heritage hotel in terraced levels down the hillside; Tijara, an hour east, has a nineteenth-century palace-fort of its own. Between them run quiet Aravalli roads, a stepwell and a well-known Jain temple. It is a short, easy fort weekend, close enough to Delhi to do with an early start.

The ride
Delhi → Sohna → Tijara → Neemrana. The route leaves the highway for quieter roads through Aravalli scrub and farmland before joining the highway again at Neemrana.
Neemrana Fort-Palace is a working heritage hotel with a public visit possible on some terms — check ahead. At Tijara, the fort-palace and the Chandraprabhu Jain temple are the draws. Both towns have older houses and lanes that reward a slow walk. Neemrana also has an old stepwell.
Day by day
Delhi to Tijara

Fuel & services
- Fuel is easy — Delhi, Sohna, Tijara and Neemrana all have pumps.
- There are no pumps on the quiet lanes between Tijara and Neemrana; fill up at Tijara.
- Neemrana and Tijara offer heritage stays, from modest to upmarket; book ahead in winter and confirm public-visit arrangements.
Road & conditions
Sealed throughout. The Delhi–Sohna road is busy; the lanes toward Tijara and beyond are narrow, quiet and lined with farmland, with occasional rough patches. Neemrana sits on the busy Delhi–Jaipur highway, heavy with trucks and toll plazas. Fort approaches are short but steep.

Best time to ride
October to March is the comfortable window — cool, dry and clear. Summers are very hot from April. The monsoon turns the Aravalli edge green and is a good time for a short ride, but the lanes can be muddy.
What to add to your kit
Beyond the standard ride kit: comfortable shoes for the fort stairs, a scarf for dust, and cash for small entry tickets at smaller monuments.
